Cold water swimming has grown in popularity in recent years, with many participants claiming it has physical and mental health benefits. Now scientists at Portsmouth University are testing these claims with surprising results.

Enclave and BBC reporter Anya Dorodeyko went to speak with Portsmouth University's Dr Heather Massey, whose studies have shown that cold water immersion has some “therapeutic effects” on conditions such as high blood pressure, migraines and symptoms of menopause and depression.
